Kinesiology

Kinesiologists use evidence-based research to develop programs for people, helping them get and stay fit, and perform at their optimum level.

Brayden Collie grew up in Agassiz, BC, and moved to Chilliwack in 2021 after getting married in the summer. Brayden graduated with great distinction from Trinity Western University in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and has since been a practicing member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists. He works as a registered kinesiologist specifically conducting active rehabilitation sessions and training for clients.

Whether seeing Brayden after a specific incident or for a training goal, he believes an in-depth initial assessment is crucial for providing the best plan for care moving forward. He is committed to continuous education and keeping the client informed throughout treatment so they can leave each session with a greater understanding of the science of movement.

Brayden’s aim is for clients who have gone through traumatic experiences such as a car accident or sports injury to restore the control they have over their health and to experience improvements in their ability and confidence to move.

He is also interested in high-performance activity and likes to work with clients who have specific athletic or activity goals. While Brayden knows that kinesiologists can benefit athletes looking to increase sports performance, he believes the most valuable way a kinesiologist can assist an athlete is by providing education about training and techniques for injury prevention.

Some of his previous research involvement regarding training performance includes research on heart rate deflection and its relation to lactate thresholds and performance evaluation.

Away from the clinic, Brayden’s favourite activities are cycling and soccer. He also enjoys reading, spending time with his wife and friends, and taking his Golden Retriever Lando for walks.
